Pekalongan (01/08/2024) – A gate in a village is often overlooked and only considered a mere decoration. The existence of a village gate can have a positive impact on the local village community. In addition to functioning as a marker for the boundary between the area and the neighboring village, the gate can also be an icon and depiction of the village’s identity. With a distinctive gate, the town will be more easily recognized by residents outside the village who pass through it.
However, not all villages have a gate as a boundary for the area, one of which is Blimbingwuluh Village, Pekalongan Regency. For this reason, Undip Team II KKN Students in 2023/2024 created a design for a village gate that is not only a boundary for the area but also a symbol for Blimbingwuluh Village. This gate design was created by Erwin Naufal Adrian Tundjungseto, a student majoring in Civil Infrastructure Engineering and Architectural Design at the Faculty of Vocational Schools. This planning design includes the required Detailed Engineering Detail (DED) drawings and Budget Plan (RAB).
This gate has a modern and minimalist architectural design, as seen from the curves on both walls of the gate, which symbolize the flexibility and openness of the village to the development of the times and friendliness to the outside community. There is also the Pekalongan district logo as a marker of the district where this village is located, and there is a letter that reads, “Welcome to Blimbing Wuluh Village.” In addition, the LED lights that illuminate the gate also serve to illuminate the area around the gate. In an emergency, this gate can be passed by emergency response vehicles such as ambulances and fire trucks because it has been designed to be higher than 4 meters from the road surface. The plan is for this gate to be built on the border of Blimbing Wuluh Village and Pait Village.
According to Mr. Badri S.Pd, Secretary of Blimbing Wuluh Village, the design of this gate could be a good start for the village to realize the gate’s construction. Meanwhile, Mr. Riyanto, Head of Blimbingwuluh Village, stated that the construction of this gate had been included in the draft of the Blimbingwuluh Village Medium-Term Development Plan 2024-2026 so that the design plan that has been made can later be a reference for the village when the village gate is built.
The design and RAB for the welcome gate were submitted on Saturday, August 1, 2024. Mr. Riyanto submitted the results of the design report and RAB for the welcome gate as the Head of Blimbing Wuluh Village. The hope of TEAM II KKN Undip in 2023/2024 is that by making this design and RAB, it can make it easier for Blimbingwuluh Village to determine the shape of the gate and budget the costs needed when the construction of the village gate will be carried out in the next few years.
