Institut Teknologi Sains Bandung held an OBE (Outcome Based Education) Curriculum Workshop in Cikarang on September 3-5, 2024. The resource person or speaker in the activity was Asri Nurdiana, S.T, M.T, the Head of the Civil Infrastructure Engineering and Architectural Design Study Program, SV Undip. This activity was attended by the Faculty of Vocational Engineering curriculum development team, which consisted of the Pulp and Paper Processing Technology D4 Study Program, the Plantation Production Technology and Management D4 Study Program, and the Palm Oil Processing Technology D3 Study Program. The activity was opened by the Chancellor of ITSB, Prof. Dr. Carmadi Machbub, who said that this workshop was held for periodic curriculum updates, which were expected to be OBE-based. The Outcome Based Education (OBE) Curriculum or outcome-based curriculum is an education system that focuses on learning outcomes or outputs. This curriculum is centered on the material that must be completed and the final results to be achieved.
On this occasion, Mrs. Asri Nurdiana also said that the vocational curriculum must refer to KKNI and SKKNI. Another thing that needs to be planned in this OBE curriculum is periodic evaluation, whether carried out every semester, every year, or every change in the curriculum. The hope is that the prepared curriculum meets the industry’s needs.
