To protect the environment, applying energy-saving principles in buildings is becoming increasingly important; along with the growing awareness of the importance of the environment, using energy-saving tenets in buildings is no longer just an option but a necessity. Semarang, on October 4, 2024, a public lecture was held by the Civil Infrastructure Engineering and Architectural Design Study Program located in the Undip Vocational School Meeting Room. The activity presented resource persons who are experts in their fields, namely Dr. Ing. Ir. Ova Candra Dewi, S.T., M.Sc., GP., IPU. Carrying an exciting theme, “Application of Energy-Saving Principles in Buildings.”

In this modern era, awareness of the importance of protecting the environment is increasing. One way to contribute is through the application of energy-saving principles in buildings. This principle not only helps reduce negative impacts on the environment but also positively impacts buildings. Applying energy-saving principles in buildings provides various benefits, including cost savings, occupant comfort, and positive environmental impacts. The main components of energy-saving implementation include efficient designs such as utilizing natural lighting to reduce the use of lamps, arranging good ventilation to maintain room temperature without relying on air conditioning, and using recycled materials to minimize waste. Applying energy-saving principles to buildings is essential in supporting sustainability and protecting the environment. With careful design, the use of suitable materials, and efficient technology, we can create buildings that are comfortable, functional, and environmentally friendly.
