Semarang, 28-29 October 2024 The Civil Infrastructure Engineering and Architectural Design Study Program has held a Guest Lecture on “Citicon Teaches Lightweight Construction Material.” The activity was carried out in Rooms E.2.2 and E.2.1 by presenting a resource person who is an expert in his field, Mr. Adi Wicaksono. This guest lecture was opened directly by the lecturer in charge of the building materials course, Mrs. Ratih Widiastuti, Ph.D.
The delivery of material related to “Lightweight Construction Material” includes lightweight brick wall materials and floor panels. This guest lecture was also supported by a demonstration/practice of building materials by cutting lightweight brick samples.
Lightweight construction materials have low density and are lighter than conventional materials such as concrete or steel. The advantages of Lightweight Construction Materials include materials that are easier to move and install, which means that construction time can be shortened; in addition, lightweight materials often have good insulating properties, help maintain the temperature inside the building, and reduce the need for cooling or heating. Thus, the use of this material can reduce overall energy consumption.
