Semarang, March 1, 2025 – The Applied Undergraduate Study Program of Civil Infrastructure Engineering and Architectural Design of the Vocational School of Diponegoro University (Undip) held a Visiting Professor activity by inviting Dr. Azmal Bin Sabil from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). The activity-themed BIM for Tourism Object Planning was held on February 23-27, 2025, and took place with a series of events, including two public lectures (lecture series), namely Building Information Modeling for Future and BIM for Tourism Object Planning.
Dr. Azmal Bin Sabil, an expert in Building Information Modeling (BIM), provided insight into how BIM technology can be utilized in the planning and development of tourist attractions. In the Building Information Modeling for Future lecture, Dr. Azmal discussed the potential of BIM to support more efficient and sustainable future infrastructure development. Meanwhile, in the BIM for Tourism Object Planning lecture, he discussed in more depth the application of BIM in designing and managing tourist attractions that can increase the attractiveness and sustainability of tourism in the future.
In addition to public lectures, this activity includes several other programs, including implementing International Community Services, which provides opportunities for international partners to participate in community service activities. In addition, Dr. Azmal is an external examiner who conducts academic evaluations, providing a global perspective on assessing the quality of research and student development at Undip.
This activity ended with a discussion on the further development of cooperation between Undip and UTHM in education and research, focusing on integrating BIM technology in various sectors, including tourism and infrastructure development.

By holding this activity, it is hoped that it can increase the understanding of students and lecturers regarding the great potential of BIM technology in sustainable development, enrich the atmosphere of internationalization, and encourage various collaborative activities between the two universities, especially in research and development of science.
