Diploma Civil Architecture Scientific Competition 2025: A Platform for Students to Create, Compete, and Collaborate in Advancing Digital Construction Technology

Diploma Civil Architecture Scientific Competition (DISCO) is an annual competition held by the Diploma Civil and Architecture Research Bureau (DIPOVIL) of the Diponegoro University Vocational School. This activity is a form of concern for the potential of Indonesian students to express their ideas and innovations, especially in the fields of civil engineering and architecture. In 2025, DISCO carries the theme “Digitalization in Modern Construction”, which is in line with the development of digital technology that is currently taking place in the construction industry. Through this theme, DISCO 2025 presents a series of competition activities such as essays, bridge competitions, design competitions, and national seminars. DISCO 2025 is not only a competition event, but also a forum/media for developing the potential of the younger generation in responding to challenges in the construction industry. Through various competition branches, participants are required to be creative and think critically in producing solutions to answer issues related to the theme carried out in this activity.

Participation from various levels of education, from High School to College spread across Indonesia shows that the spirit of innovation and contribution in the construction industry is very high. In addition to being a place to show off abilities and innovation, DISCO 2025 is a space for participants to collaborate and exchange insights and expand networks related to the use of technology in the construction sector. In addition to holding various interesting competition branches, the flagship activity of DISCO 2025 is the National Seminar. By presenting expert and experienced speakers in the fields of civil engineering and architecture, participants gain new knowledge related to the use and application of digital technology that is currently popular in the construction industry such as the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM), Internet of Things (IoT), and various other technologies in supporting smart construction which is now starting to be widely applied in various large projects. By holding DISCO 2025, it is hoped that in the future fresh and innovative ideas will emerge/be born that can contribute to sustainable development in Indonesia.
